部編本國語教科書編排設計之研究

An Investigation of the Layout Design in National-edition Textbooks of Elementary School

摘要


文字編排是印刷媒體的主軸,而字形設計是形成版面視覺的核心,尤其對以傳播與學習知識為主要機能的教科書而言,若能適切的理解並使用字形,不但可以營造良好的文字編排與版面視覺,亦能協助師生達到預期的教學目標與學習效能。自國民政府於台灣施行教育工作以來,我國國小部編本教科書歷經數次課程標準的調整,以及教育法規的修訂,前後時間近50年。在此期間,為因應時代與社會的變遷,國小教科書無論在字形與版面的視覺表現,或是課程內容的取材,皆呈現豐富且多元的面貌,而這些教科書直接或間接的影響學童在成長過程中的閱讀習慣或審美觀,因此,本研究為考量教科書之基礎教育與社會機能,以國小中年級第5冊國語教科書為例,依據所蒐集42至90學年教育部編審版本之課文樣本,經由逐年、逐期紀錄並歸納印刷字形與編排要素之細目,佐以相關法令規定與印刷技術等因素,藉以探討教科書印刷字形與編排應用的發展,進而分析其編排特徵與視覺效果,以理解部編本教科書編排設計之歷程與形成原因,希冀作為今後檢視教科書編排設計之參考與依據。

Typeface is one of the core elements in layout design, especially in textbook editing. As textbooks are one of the resources for knowledge and information, choices of different typefaces affect the readability and the visual images of the whole layout scheme. In addition, fluent and visual-friendly layouts may influence the efficiency and the effectiveness of teaching and learning. During the past fifty years, the educational regulations regarding the course curriculum standards and textbook editorial policies for elementary schools have been altered drastically. In response to the change of era and society, changes were diversified and dynamical in terms of the visual presentations in typeface choice and the content of the text. Hence, in consideration of the basic education, with the example of Mandarin textbook vol. 5 in elementary school, this research investigated the layout design of textbooks published in past several years. By the record of year-by year and period-by-period of relevant items regarding to print typeface and editing elements, plus the factors of legal regulations and printing technology, this study explored the development of print typeface and layout applications. Furthermore, the visual effects and the layout characteristics were analyzed so as to understand the forming of the design and layout for textbooks. The study results can be a reference when reviewing the layout design for textbooks in the future.
