Allergic rhinitis(AR), characterized by sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, and nasal pruritus, is a worldwide health problem affecting people of all ages. The reported incidence of AR is 11.8-46 % worldwide. This thirty years old male who suffered from rhinorrhea, nasal itching, nasal obstruction, and sneezing in the morning recurrently for many years from childhood. Based on the theory of syndrome differentiation of TCM, patient is diagnosed as Kidney Yang Vacuity ,whose symptom include aversion to cold, diarrhea containing untransformed food, pale tongue with white fur, sunken weak pulse. After taking You-Gui-Wan, a classical herbal formula in Traditional Chinese Medicine, warming the Yang of the kidney and used clinically in patients with Kidney Yang vacuity, this patient's symptom are significantly improved in the scores from seven to three by the total nasal symptom score(TNSS).
