郎尼根神學方法的八項功能專務評析
A Critical Study of Bernard Lonergan's Eight Functional Specialties in his Method in Theology
摘要
郎尼根畢生的努力，就是要建構一套神學方法，用於神學研究，但認為神學方法須建基於不能被推翻的認知論基礎上，才能成立。郎氏在其經典著作《洞察》一書中，提出認知理論，作為神學方法的基礎。郎氏在其另一經典著作《神學方法》一書中，所提出的神學方法包含兩個基本階段：媒介神學與被媒介神學。每個階段又分為四個層面：兩個階段共有八項功能專務。由於神學方法是建基於不能被推翻的認知理論基礎上，所以是有效的神學研究法，因其超驗的特質，可用於研究其他一切學科，包括宗教交談。本文旨在討論郎尼根認知理論及神學方法的意涵，探索兩者之間的關係，及評析其是否成立。

Bernard Lonergan's life-long endeavor is to construct a method in theology for theological investigations, which grounds on unshakable cognitional theory for its validity. He proposes a cognitional theory in his book Insight: a Study of Human Understanding as the ground for a method in theology. In another book Method in Theology, he proposes a method in theology, which consists of two basic phases, namely, mediating theology and mediated theology. The two phases, each having four levels, consist of eight functional specialties. Grounded on unshakable cognitional theory, his method in theology is an effective method for theological investigations. It is applicable to all fields of studies including inter-religious dialogue because of its transcendental nature. This essay aims at expounding the meanings of Lonergan's cognitional theory and his method in theology, and the interrelatedness of the two, followed by a critical evaluation of their validity.
