結合「提示策略」與多媒體教材進行英文寫作—「句型應用技巧」之分析研究

The Integration of "Prompting Strategy" and Multimedia Materials into English Writing-An Analytic Study on the "Sentence Pattern Application Skills"

摘要


本研究之目的在於發展「提示策略」,並用於英文寫作中,以提升學習者句型應用的能力。本策略主要是在英文寫作時,利用媒體影音的閃爍提示功能,將文法結構中的關鍵字詞,投射於螢幕上,使學習者熟悉「句型應用技巧」。本研究採準實驗研究法,研究對象為南部某國立大學一年級學生,共計160人。實驗班級為4個班,其中二個班(80名學生)接受「提示策略」(實驗組),另二個班(80名學生)不接受「提示策略」(控制組)。本研究發現:(1)接受「提示策略」的學習者呈現顯著的學習成效;(2)學習者之先備知識對於英文寫作之表現具有顯著影響;(3)不同程度的學習者在接受「提示策略」之後,其表現皆有顯著的進步,其進步的幅度以低分群最大,中分群次之,而高分群最小;(4)學習者對於結合媒體訊息於英文寫作中,表示正面肯定態度;(5)學習者之體驗回饋,多認為電腦提示之閃爍效果,相當引人注意,可以加強句型寫作的效果。研究結果意味著,明確掌握句型中的關鍵字,有利於應用句型於寫作中。本研究並依據發現,就「提示策略」應用於英文寫作提出建議,並對未來研究指出方向。

The purpose of this study is to develop ”Prompting strategy” (PS) to enhance learners' sentence pattern application ability in the process of writing English composition. Through audiovisual prompts, this strategy emphasizes on projecting key words of grammatical structures to familiarize students with ”sentence pattern application.” This study includes 4 classes of students (160 students) from a national university in southern Taiwan. Following quasi-experimental rubrics, 2 classes (80 students) were assigned to PS group (experimental group), the other 2 classes (80 students) were assigned to non-PS group (control group). The results are as follows: (1) Learners' performance in PS group was better than that of in non-PS group. (2) Learner's prerequisite in English had a significant influence on their writing performance. (3) Students in low score group made best progress. The middle score group made less progress. The high score group made least progress. (4) Most learners possessed positive views on the adoption of PS in English writing. (5) Learners believed that the blinking prompts were so impressive that helped them remember the patterns in writing such sentences. The findings imply that the grasp of key words in sentence patterns would be helpful in English writing. Based upon the findings, this study makes suggestions for English writing in the implementation of PS and points out relevant studies in the future.
