摘要

目標：評估台灣公共衛生雜誌投稿論文統計方法使用的適合性。方法：負責統計審查的副主編提供40篇送審論文之專家意見。結果：按研究設計與工具、研究執行、研究資料的分析與統計分析結果的呈現方式等階段並以實例提出各項缺失與改進的方法之整體報告。結論：統計於公共衛生研究上為一重要而必備的工具，公共衛生研究學者應在考量研究設計與資料屬性的前題之下選擇正確的統計方法。

Objectives: To review the adequacy of the statistical methods employed by the articles submitted to Taiwan Journal of Public Health for publication. Methods: An Associate Editor responsible for statistical review provided expert comments on 40 articles received. Results: Shortcomings and suggested improvements are summarized with real examples according to (1) research design and instrument, (2) research conduct, (3) analysis of research data, and (4) presentation of results of statistical analyses. Conclusion: Statistical methods are valuable and indispensable tools in research on public health. From our study it can be concluded that researchers working with public health should adequately apply correct statistical methods.
