The Power of Abe's "Longest Administration in Japan"

摘要

Shinzo Abe became the longest-standing prime minister in the history of Japanese constitutional policy on November 20, 2019. The purpose of the article is to verify the power that supports the Abe long-term government. Mr. Abe has achieved six consecutive victories in the national elections of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors. The opposition party has a responsibility to make the politics of "one strong and other weak." The "overthrow Abe administration" is a common goal of the opposition party, but many people do not want it. Although there were two times of change of government in 2009 and 2012, it seems that the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has returned to the one-party dominance system, and there is no sign of another change of government. "Regaining a strong Japan." is the administration policy and slogan of Prime Minister Abe after he regains power. The goal is to create a new Japan that is "strong, kind and proud Japan", following the prewar "wealthy nation, strong army" and the post-war second largest economy in the world. During the 2012 House of Representatives election campaign, the LDP's Manifest claimed "Let's make a new Japan together" while pleading for "Japan's crisis. So the LDP". Prime Abe had a policy speech of "Japan is Back" on February 22, 2013 at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). On the speech, he said: "Last year, Richard Armitage, Joseph Nye, Michael Green and others published a paper about Japan. They asked, if Japan would end up becoming a Tier-two nation. Secretary Armitage, here is my answer to you. Japan is not, and will never be, a Tier-two country. That is the core message I am here to make. And I should repeat it by saying, I am back, and so shall Japan be."
