The Application of Computer Technology in Foreign Language Instruction

電腦科技在外語教學上的應用

摘要


本篇論文涵蓋二大主題。主題之一描述電腦科技應用於外語教學上的發展史;其中探討各時期電腦科技的應用與語言學習理論的關係,並引述相關研究結果以說明電腦科技的應用對於語言學習的果效和影響。主題之二介紹結合網路科技的教學模式一WebQuest,作者並提出觀點說明WebQuest模式可作為語言教師應用網路資源以提昇學習成效的有力參考。

並列摘要


This paper consists of two main themes. The first theme illustrates the development of the application of computer technology in foreign language instruction. Four major applications representing various stages in the development are discussed in terms of their place in the underlying language leaming theories and their impact on leaming informed by the results of related studies. The second theme of this paper introduces a pedagogical model— WebQuest-as an example of how computer technology, web-resources specifically, can be integrated into foreign language instruction. Assumptions are made to demonstrate why WebQuest, as applied to foreign language teaching, could be an effective pedagogical model.
