Purpose: Asthma is a common respiratory disease with symptoms of dyspnea, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough and acute attacks. Methods: Compare and summarize recent research literature. Results: With the continuation of the disease process, the disease might affect the amount of physical activity of the patient, and thus resulting the decreased ability of daily living, inattention and decreases in work efficiency. Because the disease control requires long-term and uninterrupted treatment, many patients would have medication incompliance, interruption of treatment, etc. This condition might result in an increase in the exacerbation rate during the seasons change. Conclusion: The goal of asthma treatment is to control the disease and reduce acute symptoms. Moderate breath exercise and inspiratory muscle training can not only reduce the frequency of acute attacks, increase the strength of inspiratory muscles, relieve breathing difficulties, improve the quality of life, but also improve the lung function and physical condition.
