摘要

近年來，母乳及親餵被大力推廣，然而，部分的媽媽及寶寶卻有餵母乳的困難，其中一個原因為寶寶的舌繫帶過短，舌頭的運動受限，無法做出正確的含乳姿勢，寶寶用牙床來咬住媽媽的乳房，不僅造成媽媽的乳頭疼痛、退奶、寶寶體重過輕、容易吸入空氣而造成打嗝等問題。經過簡單的舌繫帶切除後，寶寶舌頭的活動程度變大，當舌頭能夠正常運動之後，大部份餵母乳的困難，特別是在減少媽媽乳頭疼痛的部分，更是有顯著改善。雖然並不是所有的舌繫帶過短都會造成餵母乳的困難，但當有餵母乳的困難且經過檢查及評估確實有舌繫帶過短以及舌頭運動受限的情形，簡單的舌繫帶切除術是一個不錯的選擇。

Breastfeeding is widely recognized as the optimal way to feed a baby in recent years. However, some of mothers and babies have breastfeeding difficulties. One of the reasons is tongue-tie. Tongue's range of motion is restricted and leads to ineffective latch, causing the newborn's gum to chew the nipple during feeding. Symptoms include nipple pain, decreased milk production, inadequate weight gain, and easily to expel gas. Tongue-tie releasing is an easy and safe way to improve the range of motion of tongue. Improvement in breastfeeding was found immediately after the surgery, especially mothers' nipple pain relief. Even though tongue-tie is not the only one reason for breastfeeding difficulties, it is a good choice for children when tongue-tie is diagnosed and will help children with poor latch.
