《世說新語》的教學轉譯與課程設計

Course Design and Education Translation of A New Account of the Tales of the World

摘要


經典,能跨越時間長流,撞擊不同空間下的諸多心靈與思維,透過「同情共感」的激盪而成「長銷書」,也是經典足以作為通識教育核心領域的關鍵。《世說新語》成書於分崩離析、朝不慮夕的亂世,生存環境的艱難與紛亂雖使傳統價值崩落,卻逼使知識份子重新凝視自身、尋覓存在價值,形成高度自覺,這份自覺精神亦可以作為現代教育的課題。本文擬由《世說新語》的小說特質、巨群結構,提出開放性的轉譯方式、文本的多重意義,作為教學策略,透過文本形成的虛擬情境,激盪真實的覺受與思維;以「自覺」作為核心主題,開展出生命自覺、女性自覺、倫理自覺、情感自覺、死亡自覺五種面向,期透過單元學習、討論題綱、延伸閱讀,構築出完整的課程設計,希由知情意的轉化、協助學生覓得生命安頓與存在價值。

Classics inspire and strike chords with people across time; through empathy and sympathy, they become best sellers of all time, which is why classics can serve as the core of general education. A New Account of the Tales of the World, also known as Shishuo Xinyu, was compiled in a tumultuous time when traditional values were lost due to harsh living conditions and chaos in society. However, Shishuo Xinyu forced intellectuals to re-examine themselves and seek their existence value, establishing a sense of self-awareness, which is a goal that modern education is working to achieve. This paper proposes open-ended translation methods and multiple meanings of Shishuo Xinyu based on its characteristics and overall structure, which are turned into teaching strategies. Through the scenarios created by the text, the goal of the Shishuo Xinyu course is to galvanize students' feelings and thoughts. With "self-awareness" as its core theme, the course explores self-awareness when it comes to life, female, morality, emotion, and death. Hopefully, through different learning units, discussion of themes and main ideas, as well as reading extension, we can establish a complete course design model and help students seek tranquility in life and their existence value.
