EVALUATING THE LANDSLIDE HAZARD BY USING MULTI-TEMPORAL LANDSLIDE INVENTORY IN TSENG-WEN RESERVOIR CATCHMENT, TAIWAN

For better understanding the spatio-temporal character of landslides, long-period landslide inventory is necessary. This study compiles the multi-temporal landslide inventory from several government units in the Tseng-Wen Reservoir Catchment, southern Taiwan. Statistic results show the areas of new developed landslides positively correlate with the heavy rainfall. Although the location of the newly induced landslides is not fully predictable, the hazardous area induced by these events is relatively small. We turn to focus on the multi-years landslide areas. By calculating the collapse ratio and the existing periods of each terrain slope unit, landslide size-frequency map of slope units could be classified. The thematic maps of landslide build in this study are helpful for the causality exploring and hazard assessment.
