摘要

Intimal sarcoma is an extremely rare and easily misdiagnosed tumor accounting for less than 1% of all sarcomas. Unspecific clinical manifestations make diagnosis difficult and often delay treatment. We reported a 67-year-old man with recurrent right leg swelling, which was initially treated as deep vein thrombosis. Sequence magnetic resonance imaging revealed right psoas muscle-occupied tumor lesion, which favored the right common iliac artery origin. Histopathology report of the tissue obtained by image-guided biopsy supported the diagnosis of undifferentiated intimal sarcoma. We also reviewed the literature concerning the classification, histopathogical diagnosis, and treatment approach of this tumor, with the goal of applying improved methods to our clinical practice.
