不同階級國中生網路使用型態之研究

A Research on the Patterns of Internet Activity among Junior High School Students in Different Social Classes

摘要


本研究係以質性研究瞭解中產階級和勞動階級學生國中學生在網路使用型態上的差異,研究主要從休閒娛樂、資訊學習、環境監督、工具使用四個面向著手。研究結果發現,不同階級學生表現在四個面向上的特質是:一、休閒娛樂:中上階級表現出休閒是調劑,喜歡「動腦型」的遊戲,勞工階級為「戰鬥暴力型」,較長時間玩遊戲。二、資訊學習:中上階級表現出「效率」善用搜尋工具,關心課業,統整有效率,勞工階級為「需求」求解答,有需求才上網。三、社群人際:中上階級較「限定型」看對象分享訊息,勞工階級為交友較「開闊型」不固定。四、工具使用:中上階級表現出喜歡「挑戰性」破解和挑戰困難,勞工階級為「實用性」照片編修與設計類。不同階級身分學生因受其家戶社經地位影響而有不同的使用型態模式,中產階級學生因使用型態與課業求知接近,仍舊在現行教育下獲益,建議基於社會正義原則下,學校教育應負起弭平數位落差的責任,除瞭解不同階級學生之網路使用型態外,更應針對勞工階級學生的使用型態,給予不同的教學策略引導,使之能有不同的教育成就。

This research utilized the qualitative research method to understand the abnormalities of internet usage as well as internet behavior of junior high students from a middle or working class background. It drew data from four aspects and showed different qualities in the four aspects: 1.Recreation: The middle class studentspreferred playing strategy games for regulated periods of time, whereas the working class studentsimmersed themselves in violent games for prolonged periods of time. 2. Information learning: The middle class students were adept in utilizing search tools, caring of their studies, and efficient in integrating information; the working class students only utilized the internet when they were searching for solutions. 3. Social networking: The middle class students were more wary, the information they share depended on the person they were sharing to; the working class students were more open to sharing details and making friends with no specific restriction. 4. Software usage: The middle class students enjoyed utilizing software for tackling challenges and solving problems; the working class students took pleasure in utilizing software for editing photos and creating designs. However, regarding the principles of social justice, schools and education departments need to take action to set the working classstudents on the right course for internet usage and information learning. We need more focus needs to be placed on the working class students, provide them with pointers and add another element in education.
