身體活動量的重要性探討-以計步器為研究工具

摘要


近年來電腦科技的進步、智慧型手機、平板電腦的流行,以及網路普及率提升,造成身體活動減少的坐式生活型態問題愈來愈嚴重。身體活動不足即代表能量消耗的減少,此種現象日積月累後,隨之而來的是國民的肥胖比率逐年攀升,產生了更多健康上的問題。其中,兒童及青少年時期肥胖者,成年後肥胖的機率很高,因此預防肥胖應從兒童及青少年時期開始。但國內的兒童及青少年課程時數長、補習盛行、課業壓力隨年齡增加,每天花在書桌前的時間十分漫長,普遍身體活動量不足。如何提升國內兒童及青少年的身體活動量,是刻不容緩的議題。以計步器作為監測身體活動量的工具,不僅方便配戴、操作簡單、價格低廉,其顯示的步數,一般民眾及未成年孩童也能輕易理解,更能鼓勵使用者從事更多身體活動。這幾年計步器的概念也融入了手機、手錶等電子產品中,讓社會大眾更便於了解自己的身體活動。提升國人主動從事身體活動以促進健康的意識,是政府、專家學者及教育者須努力的目標。

Owing to the technology rapid growing, internet, mobile phone and tablet computer using has increases the sedentary life style and decreases the physical activity. Physical inactivity represents less energy expenditure, as times goes by, it will accumulate more fat in the human body, the percentage of obese and overweight people will increase, and cause many health problems. Obese children and adolescents have higher percentages to become obese adults, thus, prevention should start early from the childhood and adolescent. But, in our country these age groups have long school hours, go to cram school, and high pressure from the tests, has increases the physical inactivity among school students. Thus, how to increase their physical activity is required an immediate plan and action. Pedometer has been confirmed that it not only can monitor physical activity accurately, but also convenient to wear, easy to operate, cheap, step numbers are easy to understand, and can encourage people to do more exercise. Recently, pedometer software have integrated into mobile phone, watch, and more electronic devices, make it more accessible for people to use to monitor their physical activity. Increase physical activity in the country to improve people's health, need governments, scholars, and educators to work together and work hard to meet the goal.
