Thailand, one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, demonstrates significant growth in the application of radiopharmaceuticals and huge market opportunities in health care. This article introduces the history and current status of the nuclear medicine field in Thailand, in hope of providing beneficial information for Taiwanese willing to develop this potential market. The article is divided into four parts. First, the statistical data of the numbers of the members in nuclear medicine society, the equipment installed, and the studies performed each year. Second, the main nuclear organizations and their duties. Third, current suppliers of radiopharmaceuticals used in the clinic. Last, the difficulties and future goals of nuclear medicine in Thailand. Understanding current status of nuclear medicine in Thailand enables us better communication in academic and personnel exchange and discussion each other and facilitates expansion of radiopharmaceutical related supply on demand in Southeast Asia.
