By employing the firms listed in Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) over the data period 2008-2017 as our samples, this study investigates whether innovation performance of the enterprise would be affected by the variables related to business management, corporate governance, and financial statements. The results shows that enterprises with diversification would be negatively related to innovation performance, but asset turnover ratio and assets growth rate have positive impacts on innovation performance. Director's shareholding ratio is positively related to firm value and innovation performance. In addition, establishing year is positively related to innovation performance for the firms listed on TWSE. However, establishing year is negatively related to firm value for the firm listed on the TWSE before 2003, but positively related to firm value after 2003. This finding indicates that investors may give high P/E ratio for some firms listed after 2003 such as the firms falling into several high-tech sub-industries, thereby enhancing firm value for these firms.
