The French philosopher, Pierre Bourdieu, is famous with his social structure analyze. He offers us a way by using his field theory to analyze the subject identity between one’s action and ones social position. Filed is a social structure that constitutes by those people who come form every statue in the society, which is a space within many forces. The field of forces depends upon the individual’s capability of economy and knowledge. People use those capabilities as their capital investments. This thesis focuses on the social structure in the ancient China brothel literature, within Pierre Bourdieu’s social theory; try to analyze the complexity in this culture phenomenon. The ancient China brothel is a place offer social party for male scholar or government official in tradition China. In this place, the prostitutes and customers, who both clearly knowing the rules in the field, play a free competition without further communication. Beside the competition, the thesis also deals with the culture in the brothel literature, the civil examination in empire days and that how those scholar try to achieve success and win recognition in this place.
