The study of the history of literature developed at Yunlin area is far from complete. Therefore, it is natural that the Graduate Program of Chinese Studies of Yunlin University of Science and Technology should make it one of its missions to establish the history of literature written in Yunlin country. Due to geographical factor, it will be relatively easy to collect primary sources which remain scattered and will have to be collected relying on various methods including field trips and interviews. I feel confident that I should be able to complete “the study of the development of classical Chinese literature in Yunlin area” as some preliminary works were already conducted in my previous research. A regional study of the development of literature will arouse our interest in our local culture. This project will also provide an opportunity for the graduate students in my program to enhance their research and editing abilities.
