Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are recognized as the important issue of occupational safety and health problem in Taiwan. To prevent WMSDs and improve workplaces, the government of Taiwan had enacted the Occupational Safety and Health Act and specified that it is employers' duty to prevent their employees from WMSDs. However, there are still relatively few applications on ergonomic intervention or workplace improvement in industries. The purpose of this study is to provide an application of ergonomic intervention technology on prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders with a case study in energy industry. This study lowered the ergonomic risks of a task in energy industry with advanced ergonomic technology. The procedure and results are hopefully of use to occupational safety and health staff in industry.
