美人樹種毛應用製漿造紙新材料可行性探討

THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEED FIBER OF CEIBA SPECIOSE FOR NEW MATERIAL OF PAPERMAKING

摘要


本研究目的為探討美人樹種毛纖維經製漿處理後,成為造紙新材料的潛力。首先,建立美人樹種毛纖維型態及化學組成資料庫,再以22階層設計,實驗變數為NaOH添加量及液比,在固定時間及溫度下蒸煮。接著進行PFI磨漿作業、磨後漿測量游離度,抄製成手抄紙。手抄紙量測物理性質(抗張強度、破裂強度、撕裂強度)。纖維型態分析結果中顯示,美人樹種毛纖維長度較木材纖維長,較木棉短。化學組成結果顯示,全纖維素之含量較木材及木棉高,而木質素則較木材低。得率的結果顯示,得率隨著液比及NaOH添加量增加而下降,並在NaOH添加量6%及液比1:14下進行蒸煮具有最佳的得率。磨漿的結果顯示,液比越低,其游離度下降幅度越多,而氫氧化鈉含量越高,則游離度下降幅度越多。紙張性質結果顯示,NaOH添加量或液比提高會使抗張指數、破裂指數降低,撕裂指數則增加。與木漿相比,美人樹種毛之紙張抗張指數較漂白北方松硫酸鹽漿及漂白相思木硫酸鹽漿高,破裂指數較低,撕裂指數則介於漂白北方松硫酸鹽漿及漂白相思木硫酸鹽漿之間。

The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of using seed fiber of Silk floss trees as a new material for pulping and papermaking. First, we establish a database contained the basic properties of the seed fiber, and then carried out a two level factorial design experiment to evaluate the effect of NaOH dosage and solid to liquid ratio. The seed fiber was cooked at fixed time and temperature and then refined. The freeness of the refined pulp were measured and handsheets were made. Physical properties of paper were measured. The morphological analysis of the fiber showed that the length of the seed fiber of the Silk floss tree is shorter than that of the kapok and longer than its wood fiber. In chemical composition, the content of whole cellulose is higher than that of wood and kapok, while the lignin content is lower than that of wood. The yield results show that the yield decreases with the increase of liquid ratio and NaOH addition. The best yield is obtained by cooking at 6% NaOH addition and liquid ratio of 1:14. The results of refining showed that the lower the liquid ratio, the more the degree of freeness decreased. The higher the sodium hydroxide content, the more the degree of freeness decreased. Paper quality results showed that as NaOH dosage or liquid ratio increased, tear index increased, whereas tensile index and burst index decreased. Compared with wood pulp, the paper of the Silk floss tree seed fiber has a higher tensile index and lower burst index, whereas the tear index was between the hardwood paper and the softwood paper.
