The writing style of Wen-Yueh Lin is plain and significant which fully demonstrates her truly delicate observation of the world from the bottom of her mind. She perceives appreciation of life in keen and placid way; therefore, it is easily seen, for us as readers, in her prose pieces that words chosen are simple yet, in fact, they are full of sophisticated affection inside.This paper chronologically presents Wen-Yueh Lin's adventures of prose writing resulting from dramatic life experiences. The first chapter investigates Wen-Yueh Lin's belief toward prose writing and architecture. The second chapter centers on revealing her perception of life experiences by means of examining her writing subjects. By shifting locations, she associates childhood memory at Chiang-Wan Road in Shanghai with campus life in National Taiwan University. The third chapter mainly aims at Wen-Yueh Lin's broader vision because of sympathizing multicultural differences, including China and Japan.In the last chapter, Wen-Yueh Lin's attitude toward life will be emphasized. Prose deals with diverse life aspects; however, it is greatly possible that a prose writer shows his/her life perception instead of revealing the whole realistic life.
