Formation and Identification of Unstable Anionic Molecules Using Matrix Isolation Technique

摘要


近年來,吾人結合電子轟擊法與鈍氣間質隔離法成功的對一些不穩定且難以製備的陰離子分子進行紅外吸收光譜的測量。這些陰離子或具有超價性或是自由基的特性,都是屬於不符合八隅體規則的特例,需要以特別的鍵結模型來解釋。首次能夠在實驗上取得這些陰離子的光譜特徵將有助於理論化學家發展出新的模型來深入瞭解這些離子的化學鍵結。

We successfully developed and applied an electron bombardment technique on the generation of anionic species by using matrix isolation method recently. Several anionic systems were produced and characterized with their IR features. These anionic systems belong to (1) hypervalent species and/or (2) free radicals which are all exceptions of the octet rule and require specific bonding models to describe. Our study combining experimental and theoretical works will provide more insights into chemical bonding of these species.
