摘要
1598年九月末十月初，董一元率領明軍三萬餘人，攻打駐守泗川的日將島津義弘部隊。戰事初期，明軍節節勝利，十月初一日，在攻打泗川城門時，彭信古營火藥爆炸，引發明軍慌亂，馬兵先奔，步兵潰退，日軍從城內殺出，明軍大敗。死傷六千餘人，日軍將明死亡士卒的鼻子割走帶回日本，頭顱則葬在泗川。長期以來，對於此戰日軍主帥島津義弘的姓名、明軍傷亡情況、戰事細節，出現許多不同的說法。本文在綜合運用中朝日史料的基礎上，試圖考辨出真實情況，進而說明研究中國史有「從周邊看中國」的必要性，而研究韓國、日本史，也有從中國視角來思考的重要性。

This paper examines the role of Dong Yiyuan, the Ming commander, in the Battle of Sacheon of 1598. Using Chinese, Japanese and Koreans historical archives, it reconstructs the process of the Battle, sorts out some of the controversial issues in connection with the conflict, and analyzes the causes of Ming’s ultimate defeat. It also studies the construction of the Battle in Ming-Qing Chinese historiography.
