本研究整合與簡化電視遙控選台介面。察覺各個不同年齡使用族群之遙控器切換電視頻道操作困擾,發展整合與簡化之輸入介面。首先以通用設計、簡單的法則為基礎,由專家訪談法進行遙控器使用觀察與討論,發現使用者因視覺焦點在電視螢幕與遙控器間移動,忽近忽遠之視覺焦點移動會造成視覺焦距調整的負擔,尤其以高齡者為甚。由文獻探討發現轉輪輸入介面有旋轉連續移動與上下左右按壓鍵之整合優點。因此嘗試將數字鍵改良成轉輪選台,就像使用滑鼠時,視覺只專注於螢幕內容,無須移動視覺焦點於滑鼠上,並驗證其錯誤率、焦點移動頻率及完成任務的時間。結論如下:(1)轉輪選台錯誤次數比數字鍵選台低,各年齡層使用轉輪選台,平均錯誤次數錯誤率無顯著差異;(2)轉輪選台視覺焦點移動頻率比數字鍵選台低,平均視覺移動次數呈現顯著性差異達5次,各年齡層使用轉輪選台,其視覺移動次數並無顯著性差異。使用轉輪選台無須移動視覺焦距於遙控器上,明顯改善選台時的心智負荷;(3)受測者訪談中發現,轉輪選台不需要任何學習,就可以操作;(4)缺點是,轉輪選台完成任務的時間比數字鍵選台長。但是,受測者訪談中發現轉輪選台如具有轉輪加速功能,或許可以改善完成任務的時間。
This research intended to integrate and simply TV channel switching interface for easy use of all age groups. By identifying the problems of channel switching behavior, a highly usable remote switch interface was developed. With the concept of universal design theory and simplicity as the basis, we adopted a focus group approach to investigate the channel switching behavior of different groups and their need problems of using numeric keypad for channel switching. When users switch their focus between television screen and the remote control panel, they are likely to feel fatigue when accommodating the vision focus, especially for older adults. The experiment result revealed that rotary dialing operation performed lower error rate than numeric keys did, with no significant difference among all age groups. In addition, frequency of moving vision focus between television screen and remote controller was significantly reduced when using rotary dialing. The average number of focus movement when operating rotary dialing on the remote control was 5 times less than operating numeric keys, and reduced users’ cognitive load during channel switching. However, the rotary dialing operation requires more cognitive effort than numeric keys operations. As a result, the idea of a built-in application to facilitate the acceleration of rotary dialing may improve the operation efficiency.
