利用平滑化方法改善眼控的穩定度以提升人機介面輸入裝置的可用性之研究

Study on Smoothing Methods to Improve the Control Stability of Eye Movement for Enhancing the Usability of Human-Computer Interactive Input Device

摘要


本研究中以追蹤眼球的儀器作為人機互動的輸入裝置,由於眼球的跳動 (jitter)會造成游標控制點選的穩定度不足,故提出threshold-based Savitzky-Golay smoothing filter (以下簡稱threshold-based S-G smoothing filter)的方法,即是加入眼跳動的平均歐氏距離值作為其門檻值,在其門檻值範圍內才進行濾波,比較S-G smoothing filter、exponential smoothing filter之間方均根誤差的差異,以九點凝視和虛擬鍵盤輸入中文文字的方式來評估。 本研究徵求十位受試者,透過九點凝視實驗評估,得到threshold-based S-G smoothing filter 比S-G smoothing filter 的方均根誤差改善12.7%以上,受試者得到最適合的濾波器之後,用於虛擬鍵盤的打字實驗;其虛擬鍵盤透過幾種設計,按鍵上有動態放大110×110 (pixels)、80×80 (pixels)、60×60 (pixels)、40×40 (pixels),以凝視一秒作為點擊,在threshold-based S-G smoothing filter方法下,動態放大按鍵的完成率較其他三種分別提升6.8%、8.1%、28.4%。

The jitter of eyes will affect the stability of eye movement.Therefore,in this study proposed the new smoothing filter ‘threshold-based Savitzky-Golay smoothing filter’to improve the control stability. The average euclidean distance of jitter of eyes be a threshold. In these study, ten subjects participated the nine points fixation experiment and Chinese characters typing by the screen keyboard,the performance of the controlstability of eye movement examine tracking error.The tracking error was obtained by the root mean square error to the mismatch between the target signal and cursormovement.the performance of proposed smoothing filter (21 points, 41points, 61 points) are better than S-G Smoothing Filter by 12.7%、20%、19.5%.The screen keyboard has four types of keypads size,such as dynamic enlarge keypads、80×80(pixels)、60×60(pixels)、40×40 (pixels). The results of finished rate used proposed smoothing filter show that dynamic enlarge keypads are better than the other types by 6.8%、8.1%、28.4%.
