成都話的重疊構詞及變調

Tone Sandhi in Chengdu Dialect Reduplication

摘要


本文探討成都話重疊構詞及其內部聲調變化。根據田野調查的語料,本文指出在成都話的七種重疊結構當中,AA、ABB、AAB與AABB等四種重疊結構的連讀變調現象異於一般詞彙的連讀變調現象。這四種重疊型式有一個共同的特點,就是第二個重複的音節均傾向讀為高平調55。本文指出,這個高平調乃是伴隨重疊構詞而來的浮游高調,並且連結到複製詞左側音節之聲調層,造成了成都話重疊詞的特殊變調現象。

This paper investigates tone sandhi phenomena in Chengdu 成都 dialect reduplication. There are seven reduplication patterns in Chengdu dialect, among them, the patterns AA, ABB, AAB and AABB involve tonal alterations that differ from those found in non-reduplicated words. This paper argues that, despite the fact that the four patterns of reduplication differ in terms of syllable number and reduplicant position, they are similar in that they are accompanied by a floating high tone. This floating high tone is associated with the left edge of the reduplicant and is realized as a high level tone (55) unless this would result in an OCP violation at the final foot of the word.
