串並聯電池組之平衡充放電管理

Balacing Charge/Discharge Management for Series/Parallel Battery Packs

摘要


近年來電動車的相關研究已成為最熱門的議題。許多研究都相繼投入於電池管理系統效率的提升以提高電動車續航力。為建構一具備安全性及可延長電池使用壽命的電池管理系統,本論文提出一個具備平衡電量(capacityequalization)與隔離保護功能的電池管理設計法。本系統可應用在任意串並聯電池(series-parallel connected batteries)組合上,即使在多顆電池進行充放電時,也可安全且有效地管理。作用在放電模式時,該系統能平衡放電(discharge equalization or balance discharge),並決定電壓平衡所需之最小電池數。此設計不僅達成放電平衡還能輸出足額之功率。作用於充電模式時,本系統能依據各個電池的狀態分別調整充電電流。此外,本系統具有保護電池功能,當電池超出工作範圍時即將電池隔離。最後,提供模擬與實驗結果以檢驗所提出設計方法的有效性。

Electric vehicles (EVs) have been one of the most active research topics in recent years. Many efforts have been made to improve the battery management system to increase the stamina of the vehicles. To construct an ideal battery management system that is safe and able to extend battery lifecycle, we propose a battery management design method with the properties of capacity equalization and isolation protection. The system can be used in arbitrary series-parallel connected battery packs, and effectively manage batteries working in the charging or discharging mode. Specifically, for the discharge mode, we develop a new method of battery capacity equalization, and determine the minimum number of battery for equalization. This system not only reaches balancing discharge but also meets the requirement of output power. For the charge mode, this system can individually adjust the charge current according to the battery energy storage status for a charge equalization. Furthermore, the battery can be immediately isolated while it is not within the safe operational range. Simulation and experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our designs.
