This article aimed to examine the issues of measurement of physical activity in children and adolescents. First, it provided a brief introduction to the topic of measurement of physical activity. Then, it focused on the conundrum of intensity-related cut-off points and analyzed the questions- why do cut-off points perform so poorly? Finally, it pointed out new directions in accelerometry regarding pattern recognition and artificial neural network.
