台湾の大学生の日本語学習ビリーフに関する調査研究―日本語教育改善のための基礎データ作成を考える

摘要

本稿は主専攻として日本語を学んでいる台湾の大学生及び日本語教師を対象に、日本語学習ビリーフのあり方を調査した報告である。調査はビリーフアンケート(BALLI)を用いて行われ、BALLI調査の結果をもとにその日本語学習ビリーフを明らかにし、台湾における日本語学習者の特徴及び教師とのズレを示すものである。BALLI は Horwitz(1987)を参考にし、台湾の状況にあわせ7領域45項目を作った。
結果の分析と考察から、先行研究で問題となった他文化との比較で「多量反復練習」、「正確な発音」が多くの文化圏で支持されていることがわかった。台湾の特徴として、上述の「多量反復練習」、「正確な発音」のほかに、「語彙重視」、「文法積み上げ型学習」「誤りに対する寛容度は低い」、「教師に対する信頼や期待が強い」、「母語による文法解説を望む」、「コミュニケーシヨン能力を高めるための教授法を期待する」、「日本文化に触れることが日本語学習に役立つ」といった考え方や期待があることが明らかになった。また、教師と学習者の間にある程度のギャップや差異が存在しているということが判明した。
今回得た基礎データは、教授法や教授活動を改善するための情報として活用しようとするものであるが、これにより台湾の学習者にふさわしいクラス活動なり教授法が開発できるだろうと思われる。

Taking Japanese Majors and Japanese teachers as research objects and through the questionnaire of BALLI, this research intends to understand the learning belief of Taiwanese college students and what's different from teachers'.
The questionnaire consults the BALLI questionnaire designed by Horwitz in1987 and takes Taiwanese students' situation into considerations. It consists of 7 areas, 45 items.
According to the result of analysis and survey, 'continual practice' and ”accurate pronunciation” are the common learning belief among many culture circles. For Taiwanese college students, besides the two characteristics above, characteristics of Japanese learning belief include ”the emphasis on vocabulary learning,” ”improving one's ability by the accumulation of grammar learning,” ”low tolerance towards mistakes,” ”strong reliance on teachers,” ”hoping for grammar instruction by mother languages,” ”hoping for teaching methods that could improve communication ability,” ”believing that the knowledge of Japanese culture helps Japanese learning,” etc..
This research result could be the basic data to improve Japanese education, helping Japanese teachers and the policymaker in Taiwan with the design of teaching and course plans.
