南海大陸邊緣與太平島北方外海中新統碳酸鹽平台之初探

A Preliminary Study of Miocene Carbonate Platform of South China Sea Margin and Taiping Island Northern Offshore

摘要


本文為太平島區域主要油氣探勘地質之初探,主要整合了南海地區地質與探勘背景、層序地層學之發展、碳酸鹽平台地層發育之研究,分析了於太平島北方海域所採集到多頻道反射震測資料,辨識出反映了受到海水面升降影響之體系域,以及一系列之層序邊界(sequence boundary)。將此層序邊界與全球海水面升降事件年代做對比,我們進一步認為鄭和群礁與太平島之下應存在有中新世的碳酸鹽地層,與南海主要油氣儲集地層有相似的形成年代。我們希望未來可以進行更完整的地質與地球物理調查,提供南沙海域更進一步地層與構造分布與地層年代上的佐證,同時也能作為南沙海域油氣探勘的先期調查。

This is a preliminary study investigating the geological potential for oil and gas exploration in Taiping Island area. Based on geological and explorational backgrounds of the South China Sea, current understanding of sequence stratigraphy, development of carbonate platform, along with multi-channel seismic data northern offshore Taiping Island, we determined a series of sequence boundaries reflecting stacking pattern of system tracts and the sea level changes. Correlating identified sequence boundaries with global geological sea level fluctuations, we further determined the ages of the sequence boundaries and suggested that there are Miocene carbonate beneath the Zhenghe Reef and Taiping Island, similar to main carbonate reservoir rocks in South China Sea. We hoped more geological and geophysical investigations in the Taiping Island area can be carried out to provide information about the stratigraphic and structural distributions and geological time framework.
