藉由瑜珈運動改善老年人憂鬱症之研究

The Study of Yoga Training in Improvement of Depression for the elderly.

摘要


由於老年人因身體老化造成心理狀態逐漸退化,容易罹患慢性疾病等健康問題,憂鬱症便是老年人最常見之一。本研究以北部某診所為主要對象,採立意抽樣,以自願參與實驗方式,年齡須要超過65歲以上。經由填寫台灣憂鬱量表與查爾森指標,排除不適合之受試者。依自願方式參加研究,有效樣本共計34位受試者,其中男性有10位,女性有24位,平均年齡為68.20+ 3.2歲,平均身體為159.43+6.38公分,平均體重為62.98+ 11.84公斤。 經過從事八週瑜珈運動,來探討老年人憂鬱症患者的身體機能、心理狀態與睡眠品質之前後差異情形,利用t檢定來探討是否有顯著影響。研究顯示,體重和身體質量指數均顯著下降(t=4.976, 2.528, p<0.05),坐姿體前彎顯著上升(t=-2.474, p<0.05)。身高、體脂肪百分比、屈膝仰臥起坐未達顯著差異。憂鬱症狀有顯著下降(t=2.458, p<0.05),特質性焦慮則沒有顯著變化。睡眠時數、睡眠效率與睡眠品質有顯著下降(t=2.766, 2.586, 2.825, p<0.05),其他睡眠品質層面皆沒有顯著變化。 本研究認為透過瑜珈介入老年人的生活中,必然可以促使老年人找到生活的重心,學習去對自己負向的思考重新架構,藉由呼吸、肌肉放鬆及社會支持等功能,有助於心理層次的提升,具有舒緩壓力、失眠及沮喪等情緒,進而獲得精神上的滿足。瑜珈運動和其他運動最不同的地方在於瑜珈強調自我身體內在的覺察和情緒調和的控管,能讓身體機能、心理狀態與睡眠品質有明顯的改善。

The elderly mental state caused weak due to physical aging, such as chronic diseases with the health problems. Depression is one of the most common for the elderly. In this study, it was be the main samples in the clinic of the northern city, experimental way of a voluntary, they were more than 65 years, and filled in Taiwan Depression Scale and Charlson Comorbidity Index, excluding the subjects not suitable. In the study, the volunteers were a total of 34 subjects, including 10 males, 24 females, 68.20 + 3.2 years, 159.43 +6.38 cm, and 62.98 + 11.84 kg. After eight weeks, we engaged in yoga exercise, and explored among the physical function, mental state, and sleep quality that the patients was depression in the elderly. First, we used the t test to investigate whether there is a significant impact or not. The studies showed that the weight and body mass index were significantly decreased (t = 4.976, 2.528, p <0.05), the sit-up was significantly increased (t = -2.474, p <0.05). But, it is not significantly with height, body fat percentage, and sit-up. Second, depressive symptoms was significantly decreased (t = 2.458, p <0.05), trait anxiety is not the different than before. Finally, sleep time, sleep efficiency and sleep quality has significantly decreased (t = 2.766, 2.586, 2.825, p <0.05), it was not significantly with other sleep quality levels. This study suggested that yoga intervention was through the life of the elderly, and they could promote to find the focus of life, and learned to think on their own negative re-structure, with breathing, muscle relaxation, and social support. It was also upgrade level that contributed to psychological level upgrade, with relieve stress, insomnia, and depression and other emotions, and then get spiritual satisfaction. Yoga was different from the inherent physical yoga emphasis on self-awareness and emotional harmony of control, allowed the body to function, psychological state and sleep quality is significantly improved.
