This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using multimedia materials to enhance EFL vocational high school students’ listening comprehension and learning motivation. 190 students from a vocational high school in New Taipei City participated in this study. In order to investigate the improvement of students’ listening comprehension, two listening tests of elementary level GEPT were given to all students as pretest and posttest to examine their English listening performance. Students needed to fill out a questionnaire that contained fifteen five-point Likert Scale questions and three open-ended questions before and after the study to investigate the change of their learning motivation and their perceptions of the use of multimedia. The findings as follows: (1) the experimental group students had more significant improvement in their listening comprehension after the study; (2) the experimental group students had more positive changes in their learning motivation; (3) both group students showed the positive perception and attitude toward the use of multimedia applications; but, some control group students expressed their uncertainties about the multimedia aids because their teacher didn’t employ them in class. Overall, the use of the multimedia can facilitate students learning of English listening and their learning motivation, and make sure that multimedia materials have a significant effect on students’ learning of English listening and students also have a positive attitude toward it.
