In trigonal-bipyramidal complexes L-Fe(CO)_4 (L: maleic acid, fumaric acid, and maleic anhydride.), the ligand L lies in the equatorial position. These complexes exhibit four CO stretching bands in their IR spectra. Using a C_(2v). local symmetry, a reasonable assignment of these bands is made and accordingly, the relavent force constants and interaction constants are calculated.
