採集自出生第一天之足月產嬰兒至12歲以下各年齡層的正常中國兒童之靜脈血,以Sysmex CC-170型血球計數器做檢查,得WBC,RBC,Hgb,Hct,MCV,MCH及MCHC七項值,並由血液抹片判讀白血球分類,共收集688件檢體,經篩除不適用檢體,得白血球數及分類檢體676件,紅血球各項值檢體648件。分為18個年齡層,每年齡層人數由21至54人不等。分別計算各年齡層各項目之平均值及標準偏差值。以上結果均列表以供參考。紅血球各項值在一歲以內之變化相當大,以後緩慢上昇。和其他報告比較,本研究較特殊的發現為:自出生第一天至一個月大各年齡層的RBC,Hgb及Hct三項值稍偏低,推論可能因出生時臍帶未延遲鉗夾所致。白血球數出生時最高,一週內急驟下降,以後緩慢降至成人值;中性球/淋巴球比值2月大時已達最低值0.24。
Blood cell values including white blood cell count (WBC), red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin (Hgb), hematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were measured on the venous blood of healthy Chinese children aged from one day to 12-year-old by the Sysmex CC-170 Microcell Counter. Blood smears were read for WBC differential count by fixed and well qualified medical technologists. There were 688 specimens collected and divided into 18 groups according to the age. After screening out the obvious abnormal data there were 676 specimens analyzed for the normal values of WBC and differential count, and 648 specimens for red blood cell values. Mean and standard deviation were calculated for each parameter and each age specified group. The normal blood cell values were then tabulated, in ”Mean±lSD”, as reference ranges for each age group. There are rather dramatic developmental changes of red blood cell values during the first year of life. Later on, they go steadily up to the adult levels. One unusual finding was that the RBC, Hgb and Hct values for the first several young age groups from birth to one month were lower in our study as compared with other reports. Early cord clamping on the newborns in this study might be the reasonable explanation. High white blood cell count at birth drops soon in the first week of life, then declines slowly down to adult level. The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio varies dramatically during the first few months. The lowest N/L ratio (0.24) found at 2 months of age in our study came earlier and lower than in other reports.
