台北地區畜主與獸醫師及畜主與寵物間關係之研究：以國立台灣大學農學院附設家畜醫院為例
Studies of the Owner-Pet and Veterinarian-Client Relationships in Taipei Area: A Survey in National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital
摘要
台灣地區目前豢養寵物的人口正在急劇增加之中，且由於經濟繁榮，教育普及，國民醫學知識水準提升，一旦家中所飼養寵物的身心有任何不正常時應求診於獸醫師，這觀念在目前已是相當普遍的趨勢。為了瞭解台北地區畜主與寵物及獸醫師與畜主間的互動關係，本研究以問卷面談方式訪問前來國立台灣大學農學院附設家畜醫院就診之病畜主人。問卷中對於有關畜主與寵物間關係方面設計了15道問題來分析畜主對於寵物的瞭解及關心程度，並依所得分數的多寡區分為三級以表示其不同的程度。對於獸醫師與畜主間的關係則設計了四部份的問題來瞭解畜主對於獸醫師的信任程度、親善程度、醫療技術評語以及心目中一位好獸醫師應具備條件的看法。結果在畜主與寵物間關係的調查方面，第一級對寵物十分關心及瞭解的畜主占42％；第二級對寵物中度關心及瞭解的畜主有48.5％；第三級對寵物極少關心及瞭解的畜主有9.5％。在獸醫師與畜主關係的調查方面，77％的畜主十分信任他們目前就診的獸醫師；93％的畜主認為他的獸醫師態度很好；85％的畜主對獸醫師的醫療技術表示滿意；而在畜主對獸醫師的要求方面，畜主則認為「對疾病診斷精確」與「對病情能解釋清楚」是一個好獸醫師所應具備的兩大條件。由本研究結果顯示台北地區仍有超過是50％以上的畜主對於寵物的飼養保健觀念仍嫌不足，所以小動物獸醫師在扮演畜主與寵物間橋樑的角色上，應積極地負起更多教育畜主的責任，以提升我國獸醫師的診療品質與增進寵物、畜主的身心健康。

The population of households that own pets is growing rapidly in Taiwan. Until now, more and more companion animal owners obtain the veterinary care when their pets have some physical or behavior disorders. In order to get more details about the owner-pet and veterinarian-client relationships in Taipei area, this study was designed to enable statistical estimation of the owner-pet and veterinarian-client relationships with a questionnaire. A hundred companion animal owners who came to National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital for veterinary care were interviewed face to face. In the first section of the questionnaire, there was 15 questions designed to get the owner-pet relationship scores which were divided into three parts of different levels. In the second section, we have four parts of questions about the owners' attitude toward the veterinarian to obtain the scores for the veterinarian-client relationship. Results of the first part, 42% of pet owners had paid the highest attention to the owner-pet relationship, whereas 48.5% of pet owners are the second and 9.5% are the worst. In the survey of veterinarian-client relationship, 77% of pet owners trust their veterinarians, 93% of pet owners folt that they were acknowledged with sincerity and respect by their veterinarians and 85% of the pet owners think their veterinarians are good in the treatment skill. In the last part, the owners are requested to fill in three characteristics a veterinarian should keep in his profession according to the owner's opinions. ”Diagnose the disease correctly” and ”Explain to the wner in detail” are two of the most important characteristics which a good veterinarian should have.
