延長不飽和聚酯塗料可使用時間之研究(一)硬化劑配方與塗裝方式對塗料硬化反應與乾燥時間之影響

Study on the Extension of Pot-life for Unsaturated Polyester Coating (1)-Effect of Catalyst/Promoter Ratios and Finish Patterns on the Curing Reaction and Drying Time of Coating

摘要


為了解決不飽和聚酯塗料可使用時間太短的缺點,使此種具有優良特性的塗料,能為業界所樂意採用;本研究乃探討不同催化劑(MEKPO)/促進劑(Co)之配合(MEKPO:0.5%、0.75%、1.0%、2.0%,Co:0.25%、0.5%、1.0%,共得12種配合條件),對塗料可使用時間之差異,以及不受可使用時間限制之預塗法(A→B及B→A)及三明治式塗裝法(A→B→A及B→A→B)與兩液混合(MIX)後塗裝方式之乾燥時間與塗膜狀態之比較(A液:樹脂+苯乙烯+Co,B液:樹脂+苯乙烯+MEKPO),以尋求塗料之最佳配方與合適之塗裝方法。試驗結果得知,本研究所採用之MEKPO/Co配合的各種條件中,其膠化時間最長者僅達25分鐘(即MEKPO:0.5%、Co:0.25%),其餘大都在10分鐘以內,無法配合工廠之作業性,所以兩液混合之塗裝,作業上較為困難;又預塗法與三明治式塗裝法中,以B液為最上層者,即A→B及B→A→B者,塗膜均呈粘著狀態,無法乾燥,而塗膜可乾燥的B→A及A→B→A塗裝樣式中,B→A者塗膜較易全面起皺或邊緣起皺,而A→B→A者,雖其乾燥時間稍慢,但塗膜平滑度足以媲美MIX塗裝者。各種催化劑/促進劑之不同比例,及各種塗裝樣式之其他塗膜性質,將於第二報中敘述。

In order to solve the problem of very short pot-life of unsaturated polyester coating, various ratios of catalyst (MEKPO)/ promoter (Co) and three kinds of finish pattern were studied. The MEKPO/ Co ratios included 12 conditions were composed from MEKPO: 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0% 2.0% and Co: 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0%,.The finish patterns included prefinish (A→B and B→A), sandwich finish(A →B → A and B →A → B) and mix finish (A+B), The results are summarized as follows: 1. In this study, the gel time of coating using MEKPO: 0.5%' Co : 0.25% could reach 25 min only , and the other ratios of MEKPO/Co were beolw 10 min mostly. Obviousely, the mix finish (A+B) had inferior workability and can not be adopted to finish procedure for factory. 2. In the finish pattern, if the top layer was B component (resin +styrene + MEKPO) i.e. A→B (one of the prefinishes), B→ A→ B(one of the sandwich finishes) their film remained stickness and could not dry completely. 3. Among the completely dried film of B→A, A→B→A and mix finish patterns, the film of B→A pattern wrinkled easily in all or edge. Although, the drying time of A→B→A pattern was slightly slower than mix finish, but the smoothness of film could be compared favorably with the mix finish pattern.
