台東樟原黏土資源之有機黏土備製研究

Study on the Preparation of Organic Clay from Zhang-Yuan Clay Mine of Taitung

摘要


台東樟原地區的黏土資源,開採後以乾燥磨粉即出售,主要是以原始之型式應用為主,其價值維持於一般工業礦物之水平。由於黏土之層狀結晶結構,經過插層處理後,可剝為單分子厚度,應用於奈米複合材料上,大幅提昇應用層次。本研究是以樟原黏土為原料,經過膨潤分散、離子交換、離心沉降處理來提高純度,繼而以陽離子進行原子結構層間離子插層,探討層間離子型態對於陽離子交換能力之影響,並以胺鹽陽離子界面活性劑作為插層劑製成有機黏土,以低角度之X光繞射分析、比表面積及離子交換能力評估處理效果,發現樟原黏土可以選出50%作為有機黏土,屬於中上級之黏土資源。

The clay resource from Zhang-Yuan Taitung county, was mined more than 3 decates. The product was only clay prowder prepared by drying and grinding. The primary application was the water resistant in civil engineering and adsorbant of odor. Its worth was put as the same level of inductrial mineral. Recently, the expanded clay was discovered a lot of novel applications after treatment of intercalated organic material into the crystal layered structure. This organic clay can be mixed into polymer such as nylon in the form of molecular sheet and the admixture nanocomposite material has excellent properties compared with the raw material. This paper reported the treatment of Taiwan local clay to become the pillared structure organic clay. The processes included purification processes such as dispersion, classification and centrifugal settling; expansion processes such as ion exchange, organic intercalation. The final product was examined by low angle x-ray diffraction (material XRD), surface area measurement, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). It was concluded that local clay used as the raw material of organic clay, the yielding is near 50%. It belongs to good grade in general clay resources.
