A Study of Farmland Rental Subsidy and Producers' Profit Efficiency in Taiwan
耕地租金補貼與生產者利潤效率：以台灣農民為例
摘要
This study investigates the impact of government farm rent subsidy on farm profit efficiency by using data from participants in the Small landlord and large tenants program in Taiwan. The results of this research indicate that the government's land rent subsidy has a negative impact on farm profit efficiency. However, the area of farm land cultivated has a positive impact on farm profit efficiency. Therefore, whether government land rent subsidy can improve farm profit efficiency depends on the increase of leased farmland by producers in response to farm rent subsidies.

本研究使用台灣小地主大佃農計劃參與者的資料，研究政府耕地租金補貼對農場利潤效率的影響。本研究結果顯示政府的土地租金補貼對農場利潤效率有負面影響。然而，耕地面積對農場利潤效率有正向影響。因此，政府地租補貼能否提高農場利潤效率，取決於生產者耕地租賃市場之租金價格彈性。亦即生產者因為租金價格下降所願意增加租用農地面積之反應程度。另外，本研究結果亦顯示生產者年齡，教育程度會影響其利潤效率。
