A Case of Lymphangioma of the Spleen

Lymphangioma is a well recognized benign tumor frequently encountered in infancy and childhood. The most common sites of such lesions are the neck (75%) and axillary region (20%). Abdominal lymphangioma is rare. We report a case of 46-yearold female presenting with a mild attack of left upper abdominal pain referred to back. Splenectomy was done, and pathological study revealed lymphangioma. Less then 100 cases of lymphangioma of the spleen have been reported in the English literature. This was the 1^(st) case reported at our hospital.
