DIAGONALLY SYMMETRIC SLOTTED MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA WITH CIRCULAR POLARIZATION FOR UHF TRANS-RECEIVER AND RFID SYSTEM

摘要


It has been observed that the polarized microstrip antenna is always an important factor for wireless communication applications. One of such antennas is very much useful for UHF trans-receiver for 4G / 5G technology and RFID applications. This paper proposes the simulation design of diagonally symmetric slotted polarized microstrip antenna at GSM frequency band especially in the range of 865 - 868 MHz. The simulated design was also fabricated. Two types of microstrip antennas were designed in which two diagonally symmetric squares and plus sign shapes were separately slotted from the each square microstrip antenna. The result so obtained from the designed antennas, provides the desired specifications which are useful for UHF wireless applications. The results from both the antennas show that the diagonally symmetric slotted shape not only provides the circular polarization but also provides better gain ranging between 4.45 dB to 4.6 dB, better return loss, axial ratio and VSWR. The specifications so mentioned perfectly match the guidelines of countries like India and most European Union countries. All the results obtained from the simulated and fabricated slotted shaped antennas were also compared in the present paper.
