This article presents the journal impact indicators, mainly covered in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Web of Science, that developed by the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI, today part of Thomson Reuters). These indicators include total publications, total citations, 2-year impact factor, 5-year impact factor, immediacy index, cited half-life, citing half-life, self-citing rate, self-cited rate, H index, Eigenfactor score, article influence score. In addition to JCR of WOS, Scopus supplies other unique journal impact indicators, i.e., % not cited, source normalized impact per paper (SNIP) and SCImago journal rank (SJR). Moreover, the applications and limitations of these indicators are also discussed.
