《詩．桃夭》甚解

摘要

本文試圖詮釋《詩．桃夭》一詩可能蘊含的意義。基本上是透過孔子論詩的意見，詩可以興，敞開人封閉的生命。〈毛傳〉以興解詩，義雖稍別，亦有助於理解詩義。這首詩以桃樹和桃花的華美的意象譬喻新婚女子的美麗與欣悅，固是自然而生動；而神話中的「桃林」和民俗中的「桃木」都與再生與新生相關聯，這些文化積澱豐富了桃樹的意象。因而也可從詩句中延伸出「生生不已」和生機洋溢之趣。這首詩就不僅是描述性的、限於文字表面所傳達的意思；進而超越文字的本身，直接訴諸生命的眞實意義。

Based on Confucius's famous quote that reading the ”Classic of Poetry” can xing (to inspire) a person, this paper explores the deep meaning of ”The Lush Peach” in the ”Classic of poetry”. Besides Mao Heng's annotations that spotlight the implications of the poem, this study examines myths and folklores that are related to tao (peach), This poem is not only about a girl's marriage, but about the meaning of life: to sprout to bloom, to fruit, and to be endless.
