The aim of this article is to make clear of the root of the Liujing's (six meridians) arrangement order in the Huangdi neijing (Yellow Emperor's inner canon) by referring to the excavated medical books of Mawangdui and other existing literature. The contents of the Liujing arrangement order, which integrate the Shier xiaoxi gua (tidal hexagrams) and the calendar starting with the yin month (i.e., the terrestrial branch of the lunar month), are found only in the "Meijie" chapter of the Huangdi neijing. However, in the "Yinyang xi riyue" chapter and the "Jingjin" chapter of the Lingshu (divine pivot), only the Liujing and the twelve months of the calendar system starting with the yin month are combined; the Shier xiaoxi gua remain unrelated. What the three have in common is that after combining the Liujing with the twelve months, they were reorganized based on the historical literature that was popular at the time. On the basis of unearthing a common theoretical system constructed in the five chapters ("Maijie," "Relun," "Juelun," "Liuweizhi dalun," and "Zhizhenyao dalun"), the relationship regarding the order of Liujing in the five chapters was elucidated.
