Anamorphic Hypocreales accommodated in the genera Cladobotryum and Sepedonium were collected from basidiomata in northern Taiwan. Based on morphology on the natural hosts as well as in culture, and ITS sequence similarities, the species were identified as Cladobotryum semicirculare, previously known in Taiwan only from Ganoderma lingzhi in a mushroom farm, and Sepedonium ampullosporum, which is newly recorded in Taiwan. Microporus xanthopus and Scleroderma polyrhizum are new hosts of C. semicirculare and S. ampullosporum, respectively. To comply with the current nomenclature, a new combination is proposed by combining the epithet of C. semicirculare with Hypomyces.
