Cardinal Shan Kuo-Hsi (1923-2012) on his death bed wrote a statement on his spiritual life as "Emptying oneself, returning to childhood, and ascending to the peak of the Sacred Mountain" which reveal his effort on his cultivation of truth, goodness, beauty, and holiness. This article attempts to discuss Cardinal Shan's spiritual orientation from his own writings, and to explore his values and inspirations that reflected in the theme on "Life Leadership". In his Life journey, he had been very much concerned about the endeavor of "leadership". Two English books "How to become a Leader" and "Consecration and Leadership" which he loved, translated and discussed about this favorite theme. In his memoirs, "Empting Oneself", he revealed how to implement the "Life Leadership" based on religious faith supplemented by Jesuits' "Spiritual Exercise".
