Transection of the Vas Deferens and Testicular Rupture Following Scrotal Trauma: Report of a Case

Injury to the male external genitalia is rare. Concomitant traumatic transection of the vas deferens with testicular rupture has never been reported. We present a 20-year-old male who presented with a laceration wound to the scrotum with ecchymosis from a traffic accident. Scrotal ultrasound and color Doppler revealed poor vascularity of the lower pole of the left testis with a surrounding hematoma. Exploration of the scrotum revealed testicular rupture with transaction of the vas deferens. A partial orchiectomy of the left testis and a microscopic vasovasostomy were performed.
