Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the characteristics and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine among patients with infertility. Methods: We retrospec-tively collected medical records of patients with infertility at the Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital between 2004 and 2014. Data including demographic data and tradi-tional Chinese medicine treatment prescriptions were analyzed. Results: Zuo-Gui-Wan (Left Side Replenishing Teapills) (15.36%) and Xiang-Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma) (6.56%) were the most frequently prescribed herbal formula and single herb, respectively. Conclusion: According to the results of our research, tonifying the kidney, dispersing stag-nated liver Qi, regulating of blood, clearing damp and resolving phlegm are major ther-apeutic principles guiding infertility treatment. Our data represents the consensus of experts' knowledge and experience with regard to herbal selection for the treatment of infertility.
