The embryonic stapedial artery begins development at 15mm embryo stage and closely relates to the formation of the ophthalmic and middle meningeal arteries. Several types of anomalies may occur during the development. A woman incurred decreased left visual acuity for three months. MRI revealed a suprasellar tumor. Incidentally, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) revealed that the right middle meningeal artery arose from the ophthalmic artery. It was regarded as an ophthalmic- middle meningeal artery (OMMA) due to failure of involution of supraorbital stapedial division and connection between the supraorbital and maxillofacial stapedial divisions. After surgical excision of the tumor, the patient was discharged smoothly. Pathology showed meningioma.
