Water of nowadays is often contaminated by metal ions. Due to these contaminants, if polluted water supports a human use, such as drinking water, may occur adverse health effect .Therefore, this research is dedicated to making the excellent quality water filter. In this study, N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is used to dissolve polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN) in preparation for electrospinning solution, and then mix it into Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid -4Na (EDTA-4Na).At last, compare the fiber structure and the surface morphology of the result with polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN) to conclude the effect of filtering metal ions in water. The results show that the fiber diameter of the electrospinning fiber after adding EDTA-4Na powder is 0.47 micrometers, which is more than the ideal 0.44 micron diameter of the electrospinning fiber without EDTA-4Na powder. However, EDTA-4Na powder is still effectively attached to the fiber, and has a nanometer level, and the adsorption rate is shown to be 34.37% at 180 minutes in the adsorption test, indicating that the filter mold has the effect of adsorbing heavy metals in water.
