多媒體傳輸協定RTP及RTCP簡介與實作

摘要
昔日的網路，文字資料為主要的傳送內容。由於多媒體技術以及網路技術的發展，伴隨著大眾使用網際網路型態的改變，網路電話、網路電視，或者視訊會議，使得今日充斥網路的不再是文字資料，取而代之的是多媒體資料（文字、聲音及影像）。在未來，更多元化的多媒體產品，例如，遠距教學、廣告，皆會成為大眾生活中不可或缺的一部分。而多媒體資料傳輸與傳統的文字資料傳輸最大的不同是多媒體資料具有即時的特性“而如何在有限的網路資源中，提供具有即時性的傳輸服務，就必須倚賴一套針對多媒體資料特性所設計的傳輸協定。在此我將簡介多媒體傳輸協定， RTP / RTCP (Real Time Transport Protocol/Real Time Control Protocol)，並提供實作支援此傳輸協定的程式架構與流程。

In the past , most of the data carried on networks was textual data . With the development of multimedia and network technologies , multimedia is to take the place of textual data . In the future , more multimedia p roducts like distance education , advertisement , will become indivisible with our daily life . The most d ifference between textual data and multimedia was the real - time issue . However , network resource is limited . it is a challenge to provide real - time services in the Internet . It is the reason why we have to take advantage of real - time protocols designed for multimedia networking to develop our multimedia applications .
